Hey
I have just had this ridge fixed.
But - it now seems to have a lot of cement compared to before and any other ridge I’m seeing around.
What are your thoughts? Am I worrying unnecessarily?
If there’s a crack in the lead in the valley at the back , does it definitely need repairing?
Many thanks!

I should not worry that the ridge tiles are sitting on a thicker bed of mortar it will give a firmer fix than a more aesthetically pleasing thin bed. Are you talking about a crack in the lead flashing around the stack? It will depend on if the crack is in the path of the runoff as water will always take the easiest way down. Keep an eye on it from in the loft to check for any evidence of dampness in that area.

Thanks so much for your help! Very reassuring.
At the back of the house there’s a valley going down between the extension.
Thank you!
