Sunak announces general election, BBC news coverage has clear audio of "Things can only get better" by D-Ream, the theme song for Tony Blair's 1997 success... just sayin...

politics and all that is insane.

where i live the local residents will elect a labour candidate no matter what. in any kind of election it doesnt matter.

for the last 6 months at least the labour council has been at war with the bin men. resulting in strikes every few weeks and they never catch up before the next strikes. the town is an absolute sh*t hole. There are bins left all over., back lanes are abysmal there is rubbish strewn all owa. Few months back there was people dumping rubbish on the town hall steps. all sorts of mad stuff. The strikes are to do with council management bullying the bin men. disciplinging and sacking them for minor naughtiness and apparently disciplinary action for one crew who found an elderly person with signs of dementia at the side of the road. on other occasions for taking a sick persons bin out for them. council bosses found out and accused the lads of tresspassing ::b

at the last council elections every daft f*ck in town voted labour back in. could not make it up. you could resurect maggie thatcher or jimmy saville.... put them up as the candidate for labour for whatever election you like and the shields town folk would vote for them...

the torys could offer to turn south shields into the greatest town in the world and theyd get about 50 votes if they were lucky.

nationally i dunno i guess the country needs a change of direction big time. and the torys will likely get anihilated this time which will be no surprise given whats went on especially since covid times

If you live long enough you see it all, a continuous loop of Labour messing it up and the Conservatives getting everything back again. This time they are being blamed for the problems caused by issues beyond their control and the Ukraine War and Covid have caused so much hardship to many. We are coming back up again now but there are enough stupid people who have been influenced by the relentless lefty gush bombarding them all the time. What has that goon Starmer offered... well nothing he has not flipped on. He was useless in charge of the Crown Prosecution Service and will be even worse as PM. Be prepared for Rwanda being ditched, rampant inflation, strikes galore, business stifled, and a return to the 70s despair. Just you wait and see.

the bin men had best not strike any more here or there will be hell on

honest though yous have seen nowt like what my town currently looks like. the council helpfully keep telling us to put all our bins out and one will be collected at some point......

the seagulls are having a flipin field day. any bags left they rip open.

gonna be bonny when it warms up a bit and the bin lads are on strike. the town will be stinkin and there will be bin gravy running in the streets

The problem I have with voting for any of them is that they are all dishonest. Starmer not long ago was backing Corbyn. That changed pretty quickly when he saw Corbyn's disaster. Now labour harbour three groups with different views; hard left, left and centre. 'Sir' Starmer, who is worth around 8 million pounds claims to be a socialist. Who is kidding who? The Conservatives are no different; hard right, right and centre left. The lib dems are a joke with another 'Sir' as their leader. They all make me sick. I wish there was a box to tick that says 'none of the above.' That would show these parasites what the electorate think of them.

obviously its slightly different local politics and council elections and all that.... but that is exactly what the electorate in south shields is like. The labour councillors up here on the fiddle and all that they dont even bother to hide it now. its blindingly obvious.
