Building plot and title plan
Hi I'm new here so I hope I'm on the right forum for my question. We are a newly married couple who bought one of two building plots in the rear garden of a very large house. The access to both plots is to the side of the old house and passes Infront of plot A, we are plot B. When we were shown the planning consent we believed we each shared ownership of the access road but the land registry title plan shows our neighbour at plot A to own the road and tinted blue to show our right of way/easement. We've checked with land registry who say this is correct and our neighbour is refusing to give us half the land. Have we been conned or have we simply misunderstood what we were buying? Our Solicitor didn't explain this to us but the title register says we only have an easement. Thanks.

Ownership is not important, the issue for you is right of way, and as long as your plot has this right of way for you and successive owners then there is not really a problem. Presumably, there is a shared cost of repair shown for the private access. Write to your solicitor and ask him to reassure you of these two points.
