I'd like to sharpen the blade on this stick blender, as it seems silly to but a whole new blade attachment. Obviously it won't be perfect, but I was thinking of rubbing a small piece of sandpaper against the edge. Any other suggestions?

To get an edge you need to file following the blade angle in one direction only towards the edge, you finish with a gentle forward pull uder to clear the burr. I would have a go with your wife's emery board first and see how it goes.

The problem is getting to the underside of the blade. It is all a sealed unit. But the holes in the plastic around the edge might just be in the right place. I will have a play.dewaltdisney wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 8:48 am To get an edge you need to file following the blade angle in one direction only towards the edge, you finish with a gentle forward pull uder to clear the burr. The flat edge on the blade's upper side can be sharpened with downward strokes. It is only a slight touch underneath to clear the burr.

My wife said it is blending less well ... possibly caused by making lots of smoothies with ice/frozen fruit?
