Shelf life of rolled up carpet
I have a piece of carpet (about 2m x 3m) rolled up in the garange for about 5 years now. I'm wondering if it's still usable like new or storing it rolled up for a long time damages it some ways. It's been protected from dust, it's clean, I'm just concerned if the material quality changes over time.

Unlikely, but you may need to shampoo it if it has a smell. If it is man made fibre there is less chance of deterioration but a wool blend may have been affected by atmospheric changes in the garage over each season. If you are to use it imminently lay it out in the garden in good weather to ensure it is dried and aired.
