New Boiler... Central Heating water Flow direction?
Hi... Just had a new Combi boiler installed by a national company..
I have just realised the water flow is now running the opposite way from before.
The old boiler was a system boiler...
Now all the TVRs are on the return end of the radiators.
The heating is working fine, should I inform the Boiler company, as I was not informed during the installation by the engineer.
Would there be a reason for the new plumbing to be done this way?
Should the plumbing be changed back to the original flow direction?
The main question is should I inform the Boiler Company....
Thanks...

New Boiler... Central Heating water Flow direction?
Why?
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Sorry, I am trying to understand your thinking, why would the boiler company need to know that after their boiler was installed your taps are "the other way round"
Just out of curiosity, go to your sink, which tap does hot water come from?
now hand basin in bathroom? (same question)
Run the basin hot tap, till water gets hot, now flush the toilet, and touch the toilet cistern, is it warm/hot or cold?

Someone-Else, It's not the taps that are the issue, it's flow and return to the radiators
@OP provided the TRV's are bi-directional there is no issue. most modern TRV's are bi-directional which would be indicated on the valve body by a double headed arrow pointing both ways.Someone-Else wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 4:14 pm your taps are "the other way round"

Norman J, as you say with bi-directional TRV's there are no issues, so no need to contact the boiler company.
Personally I would never use a national company for a boiler replacemant, there is no substitute for a good local RGI, mine happened to come from Northanptonshire to fit my boiler in Dorset... but that's another story...

New Boiler... Central Heating water Flow direction?
I have a different reason for asking, hence my question, to which I may still get an answer, but I am trying to not understand why the boiler manufacturer should be notified.

It's not the boiler manufacturer.
It's the company that fitted the boiler.(Wakefield)
The installer was contracted by the company, he was from Leeds.
I live near Newcastle.
Hope that clears it up.....

No, it doesn't.
I can only go by what you type and you typed
and before anyone says it, no, I only know he said the boiler company, but that is not the question I was waiting for the answer to
I also asked
My thinking is since the boiler is new, is it a case of his old boiler had the hotwater outlet in a different place, making the taps the "wrong way round" as 99% of homes the hot tap is on the left and the cold tap on the right.someone-else wrote:Just out of curiosity, go to your sink, which tap does hot water come from?
