Plug in extractor fan

Hi,
We have recently had some building work done and the one room is now classed as a utility..an oversight on our side we didnt have the electrician install a extractor..
Does the attached screenshot of a plugin extractor meet regs for building control? We can install this ourselves without any help as there is a socket nearby to plug into .
Will it meet regs do you think?

To get the definitive answer, call your local council and ask them. If a forum member said yes they will accept it, they visit and say no, you can't really say a person on a forum said you must accept it.

I think Part L stipulates the run on time, and litre of air moved for an extractor in a bathroom, but not seen any requirement for a utility room. However, the wet room installed for my mother reading part L did not need an extractor, as windows opened, however the LABC inspector insisted one was fitted.
So as @Someone-Else says, only the LABC can answer the question.

Building control WILL expect to see an extractor fan in the new utility which meets the extraction "rates and a humid stat. AND I'm surprised that the spark that did the work didn't tell you that you need one.
I've never installed, nor seen a wall mount extractor supplied with a plug
How do you plan to drill the hole through the wall ?

Thanks for the replies...the plan for the hole is to use the normal hole cutting drill attachment and sds drill...then connect it to solid 100mm pipe through to a vent cover..
Ive asked BC...If the extraction rate meets the regs then this could be an option? ..
Our old kitchen hood ran off a 3 pin plug into a top cupboard socket, so I I guess this similar

So, i got a yes from BC.. as long as the extract rate meets the intermittent reqs (30ls in this case) then that's all that matters.

But why? A utility isn't a bathroom or a kitchen. Our utility is just used for storing food mostly and has a big freezer and an extra sink used for dirty stuff like cleaning paintbrushes. I can't imagine what use a fan would be.

But why? A utility isn't a bathroom or a kitchen. Our utility is just used for storing food mostly and has a big freezer and an extra sink used for dirty stuff like cleaning paintbrushes. I can't imagine what use a fan would be.
Our utility has a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer etc etc
It’s all to do with adequate ventilation

Ventilation for what though, I don't understand why it's mandatory. You aren't cooking, you aren't showering/bathing. I could put a washing machine and tumble dryer in my living room, it doesn't make it a utility room and it doesn't mean I need to add ventilation. I wouldn't consider a washing machine to need ventilation, maybe a tumble dryer but you should be venting it direct outside anyway.

Just locate an online copy of part L of the building regs - then read it
