Hi! We have a cistern and waste pipe hidden be hind a wall in a loft conversion with extremely difficult access (no boarding in a very tight crawl space).

We have some residue which we think is clean water that is presenting at the foot of the toilet and so we think we probably need to realign or replace the water flush pipe (sorry don’t know the official term!).

A plumber has suggested we should install a normal slimline toilet this side of the wall as it’s difficult to get to and to safeguard against future issues with poor access.

This will leave us with a dormant double flush panel and will look odd.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would bite the bullet and do what the plumber suggested. You will always have access problems with the set up you have now.

I agree with Steve, I too think it is the only way to future-proof your WC. These built-in units look really smart until they go wrong then they are a pain to fix. If you fixed a unit like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/toilet-to-go ... 4ltr/580jk it will mean the existing built in cistern and handle unit are redundant. It would be nice if you have a spare tile to replace the cut one or leave it insitu if you can stand it.

arent those things fully seviceable from the panel?

also you may hit lucky and its leaking at the bottom of the flush pipe where it connects tot he pan?
