We just had a new door made but they seemed to have messed it up. I had my regular carpenter check and he stated it needs a weather bar as the door is exposed to the elements. I didn’t understand fully what else he mentioned.
I understand the need for a weather bar but:
1) does it not require some threshold similar to what you find on composite doors? Currently there is just a door stop that it sits to.
2) i’ve been looking at most timber doors in the area and online. They all have kept it rather traditional. Does that not cause draughts and water to come in?
I’ve attached some images. Hope someone can advise!
