Could someone tell me what cable should be used outside of the property for the outside security light.

The cable has to run for about 2 meters along a wall and will be within UPVC Conduit.

It will be hardwired into the main house lighting circuit.

If so, you should also install a double pole isolator /switch such as This one
Use either 1mm T&E or 1.5 T&E depending on what you already have.

Come on, you know better than that, twin and earth not rated for outside used, it is not resistant to UV, and very hard to find a gland that will seal on twin and earth. In the main cable should be black to resist UV, and round so it will seal in a gland, flex is OK, and yes double pole isolator so if water does get in you can switch it off, use drip loops or bends so water does not run down cable into house or outside lamp, and it is near impossible to stop water ingress completely so small hole in bottom to ensure any water that does get in can also get out.

The big problem is air expands and contracts, and water by capillary action tends to hold around and joint, so when the air contracts it can suck water in, small hole in bottom will give some where that air can enter and leave without sucking it in else where.

There is a glue which does not set for conduit to make it air tight but allow expansion and contraction, but in the main better with no glue and drain holes, and not sure why you want conduit in first place. Conduit is used for singles, or to protect against physical damage. It can be used to bridge a gap, between house and shed for example, or make a route to thread in future cables, but it does not look good, and question why it would be used for an outside light? But the PVC on twin and earth does not like going through conduit and and bends, round flex far easier to thread through conduit, should use some thing like yellow 77 as a lubricant, should not use washing up liquid as it can burn once dry, but must admit I have used it many times.

How many do you want? Not to mention he asked over 2 weeks ago, probably done the job by now, it's not my fault you have been away.

The forum seems to be slow moving, so don't visit that often. Yes you can get glands for flat cable, I say hard to find, I know some outlets do them.

I would not use twin and earth in conduit, mainly as a PITA to get through it if there are any bends.
