I just learned today that FFX has gone into administration. I hope they come out of it as it was one of my favourite online stores.

It must be tough competing against all the other suppliers. I always do multiple searches to find the best deal and I suspect most folk do the same. FFX were a victim of the times

That's just administration not liquidation mate. They can still come out of administration although most of the time that's unlikely.

My mate Flinty worked there. He left a couple of years ago. Said management treated him poorly.

I stopped using them 18 months ago, they have gone for good, and it looks like they owe a lot of money

I must say I never understood the supplier loyalty thing, I never thought FFX was that cheap. I probably use Screwfix and Toolstation the most, not through loyalty but for convenience and price in the main. I have to say that Screwfix and Toolstation have given me good service on the rare occasions I have had to do a return. I had an SDS replaced by Screwfix when I burned it out within the 12 months warranty period. This was probably down to my overuse of the tool at the time but there was no quibble. Toolstation were also good with an Einhell brush cutter I broke the alloy shaft on using a heavy Oregon mulching blade. I had to send it back to Einhell with papers issued by Toolstation and they just sent me a new one. Very good service I thought. For big ticket items I always search for the best deal, I have no supplier loyalty.

No problem. They can rename themselves The FFX and pretend it never happened. Just like Glasgow Rangers did

to be fair all suppliers will tend to be the cheapest and the most expensive going at the same time, that's why you get conflicting views they draw you in with the headline good deals make there money from the add ons and apathy not checking price
as said loyalty costs you money so unless you get other value like quick delivery i always shop around

I always shop around. I used FFX quite a lot only because they were the cheapest at the time. I ordered 10k of stuff from them for my work last year. But there's loads of others that'll step in to their place.
I feel sorry for the staff losing their job
