I noticed today (behind a piano music stand - so we'd not noticed it before) a round patch in the wall. It looks like a damp patch but doesn't feel damp. I looked at the outside of the exterior wall and can't see anything amiss.
It doesn't feel damp, like I say, but the paint is discoloured and very slightly flaky.
The wall was built 4 years ago and there's no other signs anywhere else.
Any ideas what it could be? It's about 1m from the floor.

I'll take some photos tomorrow when it's light, but it's an external wall that often has a wheelie bin near it but doesn't at the moment.
There's a narrow passage and the the fence to next door.

This is the external wall. I've marked roughly where the patch is on the inside

There is no evidence of an apparent damp patch externally. Check the guttering to ensure it is not blocked and flows freely as a blockage might cause spillover that has found its way to the internal wall where there might be a wall tie or a bridge formed to cause the patch. (This is all highly speculative) Are you sure it a damp patch and not the result of a spill from inside? Is it still damp or just a mark?

Thanks - I'll try that. It doesn't really feel damp on the inside so could well be a mark from something, but we're just perplexed as to what it could have been from.dewaltdisney wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 1:59 pm There is no evidence of an apparent damp patch externally. I think I would initially spray it with this https://www.screwfix.com/p/ronseal-400m ... aint/82093 and leave it a while to see if anything happens.
