Help pls , central heating

Post by Theimportant0 »

Hi all , looking for some advice pls

Our central heating pump died , the valves were stuck so I drained down the radiator loop and replaced the pump & valves

Everything back together , trouble is now radiators are not playing ball , tepid upstairs , cold downstairs .

Pump is spinning ok , valves are all open ... Bled all radiators was no air in any of them .... I think we might be airlocked somewhere in the system but no idea how to solve it , tried turning the pump on and off a lot but that didn't work

System is confusing to say the least:

Log burner with back boiler (no other boilers)
2 loops from the fire, one for the radiators , one for the hot water , BOTH go through Immersion tank coils
9 radiators
Micro bore pipes sadly (6mm I think)

Any help appreciated !!

I am NOT a plumber or heating engineer, but is the pump mounted the correct way?
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Check the pump valves again.

Sometimes they can feel as if they are fully open , but remain half shut.
