replace wood dormers for upvc

Post by zaffy »

I have 5 wood dormers which have rotted so I want to replace with UPVC.

Is all UPVC the same?

Ever heard of Durasid?

Is Durasid a special UPVC product or the name of the company?

Is it safter to go with the big companies such as Anglian?

To keep the same match with with the ground floor windows, can I have wood windows and plastic cladding?

So nervous about hiring. Over the past few years, I, and my wallet, have suffered from honest but incompetent builders, cocky cowboys, dumb asses, rip-off rogues, and clever psychological mind bending scammers. I seem to have attracted the whole gamut. Keen to avoid this time around.

All input gratefully received. Thanks.

Have a look at cement board cladding like this https://www.marley.co.uk/cladding/marley-weatherboard There are a lot of firms who do this work all the time and would probably be a safer bet.
