Some 20yrs ago we had extra insulation put down in the loft at 20cm deep (InstaFibre roll). 3 years ago we had 4 extra roof vents with ever increasing summer temperatures. At same time the felting around the soffit edges was replaced.
With the recent constant near freezing temperatures, notice in 2 bedrooms on the ceiling edge to the soffit to have a glisten effect.
The roof has 5 vents in total, would extra soffit vents help. The soffit is approx 16mts long by approx 40cm wide.

Think I’ve found of what may be causing the problem.
When the loft insulation was laid, they laid it up against the rafters/roof not allowing circulation down to the soffit ?
