3 port zone valve hot

Post by llamedos »

My zone valve is hot to touch, it's working correctly when demand is needed for heating and water but motor unit gets so hot and stays hot to touch even when there is no demand and even when heating and water is off at the timer all night, does this mean my motor unit needs to be replaced?

I am NOT a plumber or heating engineer, but my guess would be that the motor that turns the valve is still running. I believe it is supposed to stop after it has moved. It may be something as simple as the travelling arm has missed the microswitch that turns off the motor.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
