Best type of blade for cutting resin worktop?

Post by Timllfixit »

Hi folks.
Please could you advise me as to the correct type of blade to cut resin worktop and laminate trim. I am installing a new unit and basin in our cloakroom.
Haven’t done one of this type before, but apparently there is a piece of resin worktop on each side of the basin. I have been supplied with a single piece, and have to cut the pieces to size. Equipment is a circular saw, a table saw and a mitre saw. The top is not very wide so & will probably fit in my sliding mitre saw.
I also have to cut out a curve for the “ belly” of the basin, and was thinking a metal cutting blade in a jigsaw is probably best.

There is also some laminate trim to cut to size along its length, so probably a job for the circular saw or table saw.
Fine blade and masking tape to minimise chips?
I plan on wearing mask etc.

Thanks

Thanks Fin

I have a 48 tooth blade for my mitre saw( and a 60 I think) but I may get a new one anyway. I’ll have a go in the middle of the piece which will be waste. Mask, goggles and vacuum cleaner standing by!
