Fan / Ceiling Light Removal / New Ceiling Pendant Install 2g 2w switch

Hi,

I have removed a ceiling light fan and wired in a new pendant.

The wiring to the pendant are images attached.

Light Switch configuration is also attached.

The second switch turns light on and off but the operation of the 1st switch knocks out the mcb when switched on.

You have connected the switch across Live and Neutral. It is only supposed to "break" the live.

What would be the best way to rectify this?
Link the red 1 way switch at the 1st switch across to the com output red conductor at the second switch?

To wire it correctly.

You need to test/identify what each wire does, it is not clear in your pictures what each wire is doing. I presume you have no means of testing? if so read my signature.

Just to clarify, the wiring at the 2g 2w switch has stayed the same and I haven't altered this. I have however put a new pendant in place of ceiling fan/light.

So the 2 gang switch had one gang operate the light and the other gang operate the fan and all you need now is a 1g switch?

Yes.
The fan was operated by the 1st switch with the red conductor in the 1 way switch terminal and the black wire in the com terminal. One of the cables in the ceiling was marked up fan power in the ceiling.
The 2nd switch was wired in 3 core and earth (old colours) and has a red conductor in the com output with the blue and yellow conductors in the L1 L2 terminal respectively.
Before I took the ceiling fan light down I switched the 1st switch on and off and the mcb didn't trip, but now that I have wired the pendant, it knocks out the mcb when I switch it back on, 2nd switch works fine with light on and off working as it should. Is it as simple as just changing the switch for a 1g 2w switch? If so where would the wiring go that used to operate the ceiling fan ie red conductor in 1w terminal and black conductor in com which is located in 1st switch?

So just take the black wire out of the switch and put it into a wago connector and use the other switch to operate the light.

Okay.
Thank you for your help, I thought I had wired up the pendant incorrectly and it was interfering with the 1st switch and hence taking out the mcb when I turned the 1st switch on.
I will do just that.
