Can someone please tell me the best glue to use to fix blind to a tiled window. Its a bathroom window as well so it gets very steamy. Have tried the tape version of no more nails which worked fine on a mirror but no luck with the blind. Please help it's driving me crazy and giving the neighbours an eyefull! lol

Are you trying to stick the blind to the glass  or is there some sort of bracket involved

Its a roller blind and the bracket is plastic. I want to stick it to the tiles on the top of the inside of the window.

If it's perfectly dry and you can wedge it there for a couple of hours while it cures, Silicon mastic is probably as good as anything

Can I ask why you're not using screws to fix it up?

Good question Auntie, yes why are you not screwing it to the wall, anything else is destined to fail as you have to consider not only the weight of the blind but the force required to pull it.

h As a quick alternative, have you tried the plastic film that you can buy to put on windows for privacy? B & Q sell it on a roll in various designs from stained glass to frosted privacy glass.

The house is rented and the bathroom is newly tiled. I don't think the landlord would like me to start drilling his tiles.

I don't think it's unreasonable to get your landlord to fix it, that way you get some privacy and he gets it done to his standards. If you're overlooked you need some privacy.

It's absolutely not unreasonable to need a blind in the bathroom, even over a frosted window (I've watched my own window when the light is on in the evening and could tell who was in there by the outline!). Speak to your landlord and ask him if he can fit one or you can - don't give any other choices and don't mention fixing! Standard fixing is screwing the brackets to the wall/tiles so unless he's utterly dim he'll know that's on the cards.

If you're nervous about breaking the tiles make sure you use a good, new drill bit for ceramics, use masking tape to stop it skidding before you've got through the glaze and take it slow and steady. I've just done my tiling and put a cabinet, riser rail and shower screen up with screws without cracking a single thing, you can do it!

Use the spade bits for tiles without the hammer action, until you get through the tile

Ther are suction cups available that would carry the weight of a rod and net. I have used them for years and have had no trouble. The seceret to success is instead of wetting the sucker before atatching to the tiles is to use vaseline or baby oil instead of water.

Purely for research, I have toured the estate where I live and watched people bathing through unetted windows and I can assure you, I had a right eyefull: my case comes up next week!!! and I am counting on your support.
Job done.
