If I'm tiling onto my bath, how do I match the other levels?

I know I'm missing something here but that's because I was born an idiot and have been getting more stupid as every day passes...

My key level is the top of the bath. I'm tiling onto this and then up the wall.

But on the wall where the end of the bath only comes a little way across how do I continue to tile

These are pretty heavy tiles so if I just slap them on the wall and try to tile down from the level of the bath I reckon they will slide down the wall.

What I think I need to do is fasten a baton at top of skirting board level and then tile up from that. But how to accurately match the top of bath level.

This is making my head hurt :cb

And tips on the right way to do this...

Thanks

One way is to work out a level and baton at the height of two tiles or one tile up, then tile up to the baton, or even up from the baton giving you a level all around the room.
