Is it true that marathon runners put Vaseline in between their toes to stop blisters?

Apparently it was walkers not marathon runners

. I just wondered whether Vaseline works. I've walked over 20 miles with my dog after work this week and I've got a sore patch on one toe. Now, if Vaseline works, I'm prepared to try it as I don't want a blister tomorrow if it rubs again. I just need to know before I get it in my trainers.

it's no fun - When I lived in Berkshire I rode down to Torquay and back in a day and got a blistered bottom
Plasters work well

I bet you had a saddle that was too wide! That would cause the blisters!

I know they use it round the crack and sack area not sure about the toes
I found the best way to avoid blisters is to drive everywhere

I have done 15 or so half marathons and a couple of 15 milers. I used to use chamois cream for cycling shorts on my toes and a bit on my nips too. I only used this as it was in my sports bag as I did a fair bit of cycling as well. Vaseline is as good. I had joggers nipple once and it was agony for the last couple of miles on one event I did.

DWD,
Finally, a person who knows!

Thanks for that! Joggers nipple won't be a problem, those will be heavily strapped down.

I just have a little toe that didn't align properly after a joint was cracked and if I'm not careful it rubs.
