Jobs done at last!!

Post by Dollydots »

Hi everyone,

I've had my skirting. dado rail and pipes boxed in at last!

Just a couple of questions to ask: the skirting is pre-primed MDF, do I finely rub down and then gloss? Do I undercoat first?

The wood used to box in the pipes is either plywood or chipboard (I let him decide what to use, I was at work and I could'nt ask him cos he was going on holiday that evening before I got home).
What is the procedure for painting either of these please?

Thanks in advance.

chipboard will soak the paint up and may even blow it...so hope its ply and as far i as know pre primed should need no undercoat or rubdown but a painter may best know . :thumbright:

Plywood will need at least 1 Primer, undercoat and gloss

Primed MDF will need undercoat and gloss

If your going to use satinwood, use 2 coats of satinwood and miss out the
undercoat

Dont be tempted to use one coat products as there poo
There would be less trouble in the world
if l had not had six daughters
