fair coment from the US but isnt opec oil traded in US dollars? so say we want a barrel of oil; we cannot exchange our £1 for $1.58 to buy it; instead we have to trade in US dollars and use the surplus to buy oil. this props up the US economy too....high prices can be good for them if they didnt use so much themselves. besides half of washington is made up of oil men.
alot of what happens at opec is decided by their biggest customer; USA. when the likes of Iraq wanted to open up their own oil bourse (probably on the advise of Russia) they got invaded.
i dont like the opec oil cartel guys (greedy & clueless) but it was nice to see that the cut in production was offset by a huge oil find in latin america.
they reckon fuel should drop to around 89.9p/ltr in the next few weeks; lets hope so as that would also reduce food bills & pretty much everything that gets transported.

If it does this sh1t government will hike the tax up, they have held off on the rises so far.
