Before tiling onto a concrete floor in my WC should i be prepping the surface beforehand or is the adhesive i bought, which says it's for concrete floors, sufficient?

you just check for damp per the tubs instructions (a sheet of plastic taped to floor for 24hr)

Another thing to check is its level enough, i have found a few solid floors that are low in the middle

Preparation is the single best way of using your time to give you the desired finish to your tiling.

The finished surface of your tiles will only be as good as the surface you are fixing your tiles onto.
Concrete shall be cured, clean, and dry before .Make sure it cleaned really well nothing loose like old paint or concrete chips anything like that the only time I would suggest roughing it up would be if it was previously painted. If its just bare concrete make sure its clean level and go for it.
An uneven base or misaligned tiles can make the floor look wavy - even one misaligned tile can throw off the pattern and grout line, which makes the error very noticeable. It is therefore extremely important to choose an experienced tile contractor for the job. I recommend you a company which i personally like

GOOD LUCK ! :thumbright:
