Need to ask about a tool site.......

Post by ali »

I've been looking at P****tools2u and I understand they spammed here. Are they only frowned upon because of the spam or because they are dodgy in some way? Has anyone actually ever used them? Their prices seem very cheap.

And although I'm glad of advice, I'd rather it came from the regulars rather than any newbies that might feel they have to sign up just to answer this. I'm sure you'll understand the reasoning behind that.

They are only frowned upon for spamming the forum.

If I remember rightly the guy was constantly posting links to his site and was caught out one day

This does not mean that they offer a bad service or a bad price, but they have just been added to the word censor because they spammed us

Cheers UHM.

Has anyone here used them? I never trust the 'past customer' reviews and testimonials on the sites themselves. Not that I'm cynical or suggesting anything, lol.

Hi Ali - no idea about that particular site.

There are some sellers on eBay that are good value and reliable, depending on what kind of stuff you need to buy.

I am rubbish with remembering names, but there is one seller who I think specialises in power tools that both Big_all and myself have used and I think both of us (without putting words into BAs mouth) liked.

And another one which was very good value I used for general bits and pieces (but mostly silverline kit, so not top quality) and a lot cheaper then screwfix for many things. This place had a set postage cost, so worked out quite well. I can see if I can find the name if you like.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Hoovie.

I've gone off the idea of buying from the site I mentioned now anyway as I've just spotted that there is no contact number for them. So any problems have to be emailed or in writing.

After having MANY problems in the past with another particular site that did this too, I swore I would never deal with anyone who's only contact was by email.

I'm finally going to buy a Dewalt DC618 nailer....after asking about nail guns on here quite a while ago I decided to just use a hammer at that particular point, but I want one now. Powertools were the cheapest by far, coming in at £326.69 (inc VAT) including 3 x 2.6 batteries AND postage was free AND you got a freebie.

Next cheapest was ITS london at £352 (inc VAT) but that only had 2 batteries. (And no freebie, lol.)

It was an e-Bay seller. I got some Ryobi One+ (what else  ) kit from, and I think you mentioned you had also used them also?
