ive just upgraded my broadband to 10mb, ive got a netgear wireless router of virgin, but now i have problems using bitcomet, where it was downloading quite fast at abot 260kbs now it about 20kbs, any ideas how i can get it going faster again

It might not be the router that's slowing the download speeds you can achieve. If you have just changed your ISP or the product from your ISP then you need to check out what kind of traffic prioritising they do. It's often the case that P2P is throttled.

i havent change ISP, just upgraded, where would i check P2P at?

it could be coincidental about the provider capping P2P traffic at the same time you have changed some of your kit too, it has happened to me before.... Especially with virgin (and others) as they will probably not be giving you a static IP so the change of kit will have more than likely 'logged on' to some different kit in their system when you booted up......

It could also be a setting in the router which is capping the P2P traffic... maybe something Virgin do if they sent it out to you

P2P = Peer to peer = file sharing = Bit Comet

P2P is now being frowned upon by some providers and hence it may have been capped. It runs away with lots and lots of bandwidth on their networks and they dont like it....

ive removed bitcomet and got utorrent and thats working spot on.
