18 month contract is up. Paying £25 a month for £60 worth of calls. Phoned them to explain that I haven't used the £60 worth of calls to justify the £25 a month. I explained that I am looking for my monthly payment to be cheaper.


Now I expected my minutes to decrease as well, however what they offered me was.

We cant give you a new handset, and our best offer is 100 mins and 200 texts for £20 a month. I explained that I have been a customer with them for years and was looking for something better.


Their reply was. Sorry that is the best offer we can give you.

I recently renewed my contract with T-mobile. Their first offer was crap, so I got onto the Orange website and found a deal they had going which looked more like it.

Phoned T-mobile back and told them that it was a case of matching Orange or giving me a PAC code. Took a bit more haggling but I ended up with the handset, minutes, texts and internet I wanted - and far more of all of them than T-mobile's initial offer.

Excuse my ignorance Inky pete but what is a PAC code.

When I cancelled my contract with them the girl asked If I was going to use my current phone with another provider I said no. Now I am thinking about just getting a SIM card with another provider.


So what is a PAC code???

A PAC code enables you to take your mobile number to another provider.

yup - you can keep your number and move it without any cost to you.

Really surprised that T-Mobile did not offer you any incentives ?

If you are a BT Broadband customer, you could get a Smartphone from them - 100 mins + 100 texts plus 10MB data for £5, or 100 mins + 100 texts plus 500MB data for £10

Hoovie, I was really surprised that they never offered me a good deal. They told me to phone back in January when the X-mas rush is over. Yeh Fuc. right of

i now one that, thats had contracts with t mobile since the started tading now every time a top of the range phone comes out he gets offered it cos of his loyalty.

ive tried tmobile vodaphone and orange but o2 are by far the best, i would have a look at there simplicity deals, its like a mini contract without the 18 months contract, you can give a months notice and your out, down side is you dont get a handset, but it just makes them cheaper, plus the longer your with them the more they give back.

im on pay as you go, i dont like having some thing your stuck with for 18 months, so i went for pay as you go, i joined o2 about 4 years ago, i get
300 texts
300 mins evening and weekend
1mb of internet time works out at about 500 pages on the phone
free voice mail
10% of me top ups back every 3 months
plus a free treat for 3 months every 3 months that changes from thing like more texts more minutes things like that.
i pay £ 30 to get the texts and mins but still get the £30 to use.
every time i upgrade i can use from 10% of my top ups from the last 12 months off a new handset or back on my phone as credit when i buy a new handset.
customer service is spot on, will always phone me back when they say they will if they need to.

i would have a look into o2, i wont go with any one else now

I have just an ordinary Pay as you go with T mobile, I used to be on contract, but never used up the calls to justify the bill, so went PAYG.
I dont use the phone that much, only for emergiences, I always give out a landline number for business, but on my business cards thier is both the landline and mobile, which I only give to my regular clients, there is nothing worse when you are papering a ceiling and your mobile rings, and you have to try and answer it.

I dont want to be one of those tradespeople who stop every 5 mins to anser thier phone.

Phoned Orange on Thursday night.

I got a good deal. New Sony ericsoon C902 handset with free 4gb memory card. 300mins and a 100 texts. Plus unlimited land line calls for £20 a month on an 18 month contract.

Phone is arriving on Monday.

dam, i wish i had read this..they are lying to you.

it is a well known fact that all of the providers bull you to get what they can out of you. i am with T-Mobile and i have two contracts with them, my and Sue's phone. everytime the contract ends there is always a long line of bull they give out, even when they renew they get it wrong. however, a good m8 of mine is the store manager at the T-mobile shop in Derby. so he tells me exactly what is what.

when Sue's contract finished about 3 months ago, she kept her number and went from the £20/month for £35's worth of calls to a £15/month contract that give 350 mins of talk time and unlimited texts.

my Dad did exactly the same on last week so they are lying to you. there is a payment plan that is direct debit but not a contract. you can end it whenever you want. only bad side is you have to keep your existing phone.


if you keep your existing handset then that offer from Virgin, mentioned above, is 200 mins not 100.
