can anyone recommend a manual saw that can cope with 168mm deep skirting boards?

Thanks :thumbright:

Am I missing something here?

I wouldn't use a junior hacksaw but just about any handsaw could cut a skirting board that is 168mm wide.
Start the cuts with a mitre saw and then use a handsaw. Plane or sand them to a finish.

Only problem I have found myself with deep skirting is doing the Mitres as mitre boxes always seem way too small.

Apart from that .....

Back to basics then. Use your mitre to cut two blocks of wood to 45 degrees. Position one block either side of the coving you want to cut and clamp them against your measured mark. Start sawing with the saw up against the cut faces of your blocks.

Or you could always hire a cut-off saw from your local tool hire shop.
