does anyone know if theres any sharpening shops left in south tyneside? the only one i know of is closing down this week. seems a bit silly to have to buy a new circ blade when there a bit blunt. or a new chisel if you have a mishap and end up with a big chunk out of one. or a new router cutter each time one is a bit blunt.

You can buy sharpening kits for most types of hand tools!

yeah but i wouldnt fancy sharpening say a 48 tooth saw blade. or say a router cutter. fair enough a chisel is easy enough. but saw blades and that.
have these sort of shops had their day now? ive always dropped a blade in to be sharpened and picked it up and when the next blade was blunt swapped em over

I guess sharpening services have in the main dissapeared because tools these days are almost 'throw away,' and it's probably cheaper to buy new ones!

ahh never thought about the hire shops.
yeah that is kinda near me tryanything.
at a guess for a dewalt blade vie seen em for about £40 i could get the same blade sharpened for less than a tenner. seems a shame to chuck it once its blunt the first time.
