Hi everyone,

I'm doing some tiling soon using slate.

I need to do a couple of cuts that look like the attached picture, can someone please tell me how to do this?

I have a wet wheel cutter, not sure if I can use it or not?

Tile Saw Blade in a Coping Saw Frame.

Support the tile well as you move around the cut especially the returns to the edge if you don't they could snap off and you'll have to start again.

Similar to cutting round pan or pedestal.

Or buy a tile saw...

Scribe round the shape then cut.

Noise isn't very pleasant though. :?

Be there all day with that

Just use ya wetsaw, and make sure it got plenty of water, cutting slate leaves a orrible paste that clogs ya cutter.

I used to use an angle grinder with a diamond blade, with a little practice you can get quite a smooth curve,

Ok, thanks!

I only have 2 or three cuts like this to do.

I'll try the angle grinder, I need to get a non segmented blade though.

Thanks for the replies

You need to score the curve with your manual cutter, to do this put a tile glaze side down onto your tile cutter bed, then place the tile with the curve on on top of the other tile and scribe away.

The glazed tile gainst the bed helps you move the tile to follow the curve.

Then as OM suggests, cut with a wet saw, lots of little fingers up to the score line, then knock off the fingers and neaten up (if required) with tile nippers and sanding stone.
