New to the site but looking for advice
I have managed to create access to my loft and intend on boarding it but my question is regarding the actually roof.
I can clearly see the roof frame and then simply the slates, if i were to board across the roof framewould this ruin the air flow and be a bad idea?
Can you insulate between the frame work and then cover or again is this dirupting air flow leading to rot?
Any advice welcome

You say that you can see the slates! That is not so good as it sounds like your property is back pointed.

This means that your roof is not underfelted There are not many houses left now that are not under felted.

It might be a good idea if you get the roof underfelted first?

People often do not insulate the roof as they just insulate the loft floor instead, the only time people insulate the roof is if they are making the loft into a usable space?

I believe the recommended thickness for loft insulation is 250mm and so you will need to increase the depth of the existing loft floor joists if you wish to board on top.
