All goes to demonstrate just how useless these 'awards' are -

Where have all the good old British real comedians gone?

Who are these people who decide on the award winners? All of them must have a warped sense of decency, to sanction Brands actions, by presenting him with an award. Even in his acceptance "speech" (if you can accept his babbling as a speech) he compounded his actions be referring to the radio show which sparked everything off.
Seeing he is in the States, with any luck he will stay there, and perhaps the BBC will buy Ross a ticket to join him, so we don't have too put up with them any more.

Humour is subjective. If just one person finds a comedian funny, then by definition, that comedian is funny. If millions find him funny but you don't then he is still funny, just not to you.
The awards are not in doubt. They were given out so there is no ambiguity there. For that reason, I suspect the title of this thread should have the inverted commas around "comedy", not "awards" as the OP goes on to question the comedy and confirms that these were actually awards.
I've won a fair few comedy awards myself. Most of them were at school and were awarded by my classmates for attributes like "Funniest Face", "Goofiest Teeth", "Bounciest Head" etc. I chose to retire from the comedy circuit earlier this year as a protest against the resignation of Brand and the suspension of Ross. I wrote to both of them asking for some money to support me while I supported them morally but neither of them have returned my letters. emails, telephone calls or vocal threats from across the street.
So yeah, they aren't funny. Either of them.
