Just bought a Bosch PMF 180 and de-icer in B & Q and got a £5 gift card free. I'm not sure if it was because I spent over £60 or not.

B&Q are currently doing a gift card promotion.

Spend over £50 and get a £5 gift card
Spend over £100 and get a £15 gift card

The gift cards can only be used during January 09.

So far I've got 2 x £5 and 2 x £15 ones.

Free gift vouchers? You must be joking. The only products B&Q sell at the normal price are those in a "sale". All the other prices are doubled or more.

For example I bought a Dremel 565 accessory today. £9.95 from my local tool shop. £9.50 on Ebay. £22 at B&Q.

B & Q

It's a rip-off.

Homebase is worse again. There prices are ridiculus, staff haven't a clue even of the most basic stuff. web site contains nothing like whats in their store and sell the really crap DIY range. I see that they repackage brands. Bought a homebase brand push fit Equal Tee the other day, noticed it said JG on the side.

I would be more tempted to buy stuff if they sold it as the speedfit brand :wtf:

Though suppose most of the DIY users wouldn't be aware anyway

Went in Boots yesterday and they had 50% off some items, but the items that had 50% off were overpriced by 75% anyway.

Do they think the public are stupid?

Probably

B&Q are horrid on prices, shower curtain rail...£37!!
Wickes wanted £9.74 for a similar thing...but the local branch is on the edge of the ghetto (think boarded up windows, abandoned cars etc)
Went into homebase for a look since was in the area...pleasant surprise...staff were polite, helpful and I found a no cut telescopic L shaped rail for £12, figured it would save a LOT of cursing and swearing and cutting of tubing etc.
