Good Olde Blighty Tax Payers

Post by IDontBelieveIt »

So, I see in to-days papers we tax payers in the UK are about to bail out Jaguar Cars to the tune of £1B.

Err excuse me Jaguar is owned by an Indian company. In the past year we have already sent over £800M and a 'hand-out' compliments of the stupid British Tax payers (stupid as in this arse-hole Gov hands it out and we pay).

Now it would not be SO bad until you see that India has actually launched its own space facilities and impressive they are. So all this loot we TAX payers are sending over... is it for the starving? Nope. Is it for the down-and-outs? Nope. Is it so India can set up new calls centres to take jobs from us Brits? Yup. Is it so India can create its own GPS system then charge us a fortune for using it? Yup.

Was there not an old saying along the lines of "Charity starts at home" or I am I not allowed to say that any more because it is racist or un-PC?

Eat ya heart out starving British Pensioners.

i heard a comment on talksport the other day, about david cameron not saying much on every thing thats going on, then a call phoned up, and said some thing like, who would want to go in to power after labour? the first thing they will have to do is raise taxes, and it wont be for 6 months it will be for years, so who every goes in next will get voted back out for picking up the peices from gorden brown.

il put money that labour stay in power!

would you want to go in after them?

and the Indian company the bloke who owns that is a multi billionaire.]

it was only the other day in the sun that gorden brown in a interview with alan sugar, said to alan that if you start a business and it goes pair shaped that its you tough luck, try harder next time. but if your loaded and might give me a job when i retire il help you out!
such is life!

Oh come on now be fair.

Those poverty stricken Indians do need our money to sponsor the hard up Italian F1 team.
Ferrari buck trend with Tata sponsorship
19:01 GMT, Wed 17 Dec 2008

ROME (Reuters) - Ferrari have bucked the global economic crisis squeezing Formula One by agreeing a sponsorship deal with carmaker Tata.

"For the first time an Indian brand will appear on the Ferrari," president Luca di Montezemolo told Italian media. "It's historic."

A Ferrari spokesman confirmed a deal had been reached and said the details and duration would be announced shortly

Ater all we must help them to beat Hamilton :congrats:

yeah Ratan Tata who owns TATA motors is a billionaire and close friend of Lakshmi Mittal (the steel dude who is also a billionaire).

As Honda pull out of F1, Ferrari have TATA motors to sponsor them next year; F1 is a very expensive business.

TATA also has a call centre arm too & a few other companies under its umbrella.

to me TATA doesn't sound like a company that is in trouble and even if they are Ratan can easily pump in millions. so why do they need us?.... i mean we're blimmin skint as it is!

perhaps the Indians are saying that they are going to close those factories in the UK if they dont get funding???? i'm sure we have many UK companies in India that we could easily call home? i mean its not as if India/Tata has as all the cards is it!

i dont get it..... there is something fishy about this deal.

Blackmail? If you (Brit taxpayers) don't bail out Jaguar-Land Rover, we'll close it in Britain and move the whole operation to India!
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

Exactly Mooncat.

So close the place down and move it to India then, no point in propping up a lame duck. Leave that nonsense to the yanks. If people don't buy gas guzzlers why support any company that makes them?

Ah! Ah! Just been reading the Beeb News web site and guess what -

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7793137.stm

And it states that "But manufacturing expert Lord Bhattacharyya told the Financial Times he expected the government to arrange the loans "fairly soon".

Clearly Lord Bhattacharyya is completely unbiased in the matter :wtf:

The word back-handers comes to mind. :cussing:

What is next Dr. Mohamed Habib telling us we must abide by Shiria Law in the UK?

Agree with everything:

They seem to have missed the point totally, they can pump as much money as they like into the car industry but how do they expect people to buy them at the moment?

It wouldn't be quite as bad if it was an essential industry - the Post Office for example

I'm with the government on this one. Compare the population of India to the population of the UK. Now look at the potential growth in the two economies and the recent history of both economies.
If you think the UK is the major player here then you've missed 50 years. We have so much to gain from this deal and so much to lose if we let this become an Us Versus Them game.

No the UK is not a major player, it used to be before successive arse-hole UK Governments (all parties) sold off the silver... but sold off the silver we did so don't come back saying "Oh we are unable to manage to companies we acquired so can we have some loot please".

It's a bit like Robert Mugabe telling us "Sorry I bugged up Rhodesia but can yo now send over £100B to keep my palace topped up with booze... I mean help my starving people".

Stuff them THEY buggered it up so close place down. I would say the same about the banks her as well. And if people are worried about those laid off fear not it is amazing just our resourceful we humans are - they simply run along and start new banks, car companies or whatever.

Nope NOT at the expense of the British Tax payers we have forked out enough thanks. After all already it is YOUR children and Your Grandchildren that will be paying off the latest round of borrowings alone any more being sent to India to help fund some multi-billionaire .

I remember the strike at Jaguar, where an inspector rejected a door and the painter wanted to be paid again for repainting it.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.
