Only ever had one such letter in a card over the years and at the time I thought - what a load of crap.

Ha ha!

I would never put one of those in a card. I only send cards to family and those we see regularly. I do have a few pen pals i send cards to, but i wrote proper letters to put in their cards.

Then i keep a stash of cards to write to those who i get them off that i forgot about or was too tight to send a card to them first.

I buy my cards in the sales during January (all 6 of them) then I spend the next 12 months signing each one and putting it in envelope.

Half way through the year I find it so exhausting, I take a holiday.

Then in November I start posting the 6 cards using 2nd class stamps.

Once I tried writing "Caller Collect" where the stamp should be but I got a lot of whinging from the six recipients.

Scruff - you were the 7th on the list and my budget does not stretch that far.

Hoovie - hang around for another 20 years and one of the 6 recipients may die, in which case you will take they place.

Bludall - need I say any more?

I had two this year, one was a novel from a friend but was interesting the other was a "look at how clever we are" sort of letter that went in the bin  .
I write the bare minimum but a great deal of thought goes in the choice of cards.

Robins seemed to be the favourite picture this year.

Next year I want to do e-cards, there are some really good ones out there!
Failure means you just didn't get it right yet!

Haven't had time to do cards this year and I suppose now its a bit late.....

I'll phone the important ones and hope the remainder forget to send me one next year - reduce any residual guilt!

Yup they are THE worse - the ones that tell us how clever they are that they have managed to borrow £100K (secured against athe house that is now half its' value lol) and have brought a new Porsche 4X4 which depreciates faster than a bottle of malt does when set down before me.

Errr the Robin as opposed to a robin - very funny Bludall

I think next year should be the year if the vulture on Christmas cards.

Outstanding suggestion IDBI. :thumbright:
I should be dead; I've cheated the Grim Reaper yet again by surviving my third heart attack in June.
