What the f*ck is it with the DVLA and government departments?
I'm in the process of changing my van and I have a personalised plate, which was a birthday present from Handy Angie.
Having a personalised plate makes chaging a vehicle more difficult as you have to get the log book, mot and Tax disc changed.
I was supposed to collect the van on Tuesday and so I went and paid for the van on Tuesday and collected the V5 and MOT certificate. I had all the required forms filled in and so I drove to the DVLA office in Preston.
I handed in all the forms, the two V5 documents and MOT certificates etc. The woman behind the counter asked if I wanted the personalised registration on the new tax disc I said "of course", she said that it will take at least 7 working days
I thought the whole point of a local DVLA office was so that you could immediately sort out things like this
Anyway I left the office having paid the £260 for the road tac and fee for changing the personalised number over, then I told the garage that it takes them 7 days before I get the Tax disc to be able to legally drive it on the roads.
On wednesday ( one day after visiting the DVLA ) the tax discs and new mot certificates were behind the door
Why the f*ck could they not have given them to me there and then?
I could of picked up my new van immediately instead of p*ssing about like this
