The owners of my property at the time fitted an electro osmotic damp proof system 35 years ago. The system was fitted by Rentokil, over the last few years the riseing damp has started to appear again. My problem is that over the years I think the system has become dissconected as I cant even locate a transformer or even any wireing from the system.
Does anybody know where the most likely place the transformer would have been fitted? If its been mistakenly removed over the years can anyone advise what the wireing from the system would look like? Lastily where can I obtain a suitable replacement transformer given I can locate the wireing to connect to it?

There should be a titanium wire behind the skirting board.
Follow this and you will find that one end is connected to Earth and the other is connected to the transformer.
The transformer looks like this-
The
electro osmosis DPC can also stop working if the wire has been cut, or if there is something earthing the wire, such as a copper pipe etc.
You should be able to get a replacement unit from here-

Many thanks for your reply. Do you know how long this type of damp proof course has been used? As was stated in my original post it was installed some 35years ago, when I rang up Rentokil at the begiining of last year they stated that the most likely cause of this system breaking down was a damaged or disconnected earth there was no mention of a transformer. Do you know if even in the earliest electro osmotic systems a transformer would have been fitted?
Its interesting to note that on the Rentokil site there is no mention of them currently installing the EO system, the system fitted by them now is the silicone cream injection system. It has to said is this because over the years have they found the EO system to problematic?

All I know is that the system has been used for over thirty years.
I am not familiar with what rentokil install.
I have had the
electro osmosis DPC in all of my properties as it is easy to install, reliable and does not use chemicals.
I think the best thing you can do is follow the titanium wire around the property from end to end, it will not be easy!
You can then check if it is connected to earth and where the transformer is, I am pretty sure there will be one somewhere!
If there is no transformer then the chances are that someone has removed it, perhaps because it went faulty, or because they did not know what it was for.
You can then get a new transformer for it and get it working again.
