Hi,
i'm tiling my bathroom at the mo, and am using 6.5mm thick wall tiles and fitting strips of 4mm thick mosaics as a border. as i am using evostick tile a wall readymix adhesive, am i correct in saying that the extra thick bed of adhesive would have problems in drying properly. also when i lay the mosaics into the thick bed they tend to sink into the adhesive which then becomes a total mess with the adhesive filling the the grout gaps. could any of the experts advice me on what other adhesive would be better used on the mosaic, (other than getting a professional in to do the job!!!)
any advice will be greatly received

regards

Tile up too where you want the border. Then allow the thickness of the border + grout space..........then baton the border gap.

Tile above...........then when dry. cut either a wooden spacer, or i tend to use a bit if the cement bucket lid.........this is too spread a couple of mm of preferably floor cement.

Leave to go off..........then tile the border with ya mosaics.......and use a scrap bit of wood to keep them level with main tile either side :thumbright:

baton's already done to size of necessary gap.
will look out for some floor cement later
is there any particular floor cement you would recommend for
putting onto plasterboard?

Bog standard (WHITE) powdered stuff will do the job :thumbright:
