Cavity wall insulation/condensation

Hi There,
I currently rent an ex MOD property which my landlord says has had cavity wall insulation installed before he bought it.
I can't see any evidence of this so how can I tell if cavity wall insulation has been installed?
I live in the downstairs flat so have no access to the loft to try and see down into the cavity and can't see any evidence of rows of drilled holes.
The insides of the external walls are very cold and sometimes have moisture running down which leads to mildew, I'd have expected the walls to feel warmer and have less moisture if cavity wall insulation was present.
I have read previous posts about lack of ventillation, clothes drying and cooking etc but the rooms are well ventilated and i use a tumble drier that has an external vent and I cook every night but not allways with boiling pans of water.
If anyone can tell me how to confirm that cavity wall insulation is present short of drilling a big hole into the cavity I'd be grateful
