This could be more of a plastering question but here goes:

After taking off the old tiles in my bathroom I've put on a backing coat in the hollows and the re skimmed. My first time plastering but it was'nt too bad. The thing is the old tiles only came to sholder level, so when I put a 4 foot level up against the wall it rocks a bit due to the 2mm difference between the top and bottom of the wall.

So am wondering should I re skim all the way to the ceiling? or when I put the new adhesive on will I be able to level that a bit easier?

It depends on the tiles really. The larger the tiles, the flatter the wall needs to be.

If you will be using large tiles I would give it a skim, but if the tiles are small then you could try and even them up with a thicker bed of adhesive.

the missus hasn't decided on the tiles yet but I would say they will be roughly 300 by 200mm.

I don't think it would be difficult with tiles that size, but it depends on how much experience you have at tiling. 2mm is not much of a difference really, but if you want to be 100% certain you could always give it a quick skim

Use a powdered adhesive.......gives you a little more lee way

I just went back and wet the wall a little then got the trowel in both hands and scraped a layer off the skim I had put on a couple of hours ago. its not professional but looks a lot better than my first attempt.

give it time to cure before tiling onto bruno, depending on how deep your original skim that you applied was, but tiling guidelines is 4 weeks on new plaster

then prime is with an acrylic primer not PVA

2mm isnt worth worrying about, thats pretty good compared to most.
