You need to bond BOTH the water pipe & the gas pipe back to the earth bar at your consumer unit using 10mm earth cable. the earths should be attached within 600mm of the meter outlet for the gas.

Bit lost
I bond the gas pipe from the meter to the main earth in my consumer unit.
My water pipes are already bonded
what do you do if its more than 600mm (24")???
Are you sure

the connection, using the approved earth clip, must be within 600mm of meter outlet, then teh cable can be any length back to the comsumer unit. did you read UHM's link?
