who would i complain too?
my father in law in 70 and we found out in jan that he has termial cancer we are looking at 6-10 months max, he'd just come out of hospital last week and on saturday wanted to goto our local market but he needs a mobility scooter to get about, he hired one but when he stop near to a market stall the bloke who owns and runs the stall started to kick of on my father in law for stopping where he did, now my fatherin law had left more than enough room to let people past and to the stall, but the bloke wouldnt have it started to feffing and blinding him about how much he pays and how my father in law was taking the p!ss for stopping there, my father in law went straight to the market inspectors to complain they said they would have a word with the trader about it, but never took my father in laws details to let him know what the outcome is.
the trader is well know for doing this sort of thing and has being suspended a week a couple of times, that is what we thought would this time but it hasnt the trader was stood again today.
ive typed out a complaint but im not sure who to send it too, just wondered if you guys had any ideas (apart from me smashing the blokes face in which was my first thought, but theres too meny CCTV)

Is the guy on the stall being abusive and threatening in any sort of way?
If he is call the police and tell them that you want them to have a word with him about the harassment act.
If he is not being abusive or threatening, call the police and ask them for advice about the disability discrimination act.
Obviously he is discriminating against someone that is disabled!

There are some real shytes in the country, it would have never happened when we were a decent nation.
I would pop along and talk to the ass-hole who runs that stall and tell him exactly what your father-in-law is going through and that he has a terminal illness. Lay it on REALLY thick and make the bloke feel like the shyte that he actually is.
Sorry to hear your news.

Well said UHM.
There is a section within the DDA which states that a disabled person must be treated fairly. In this case your father in law wasn't.
I would write to the market inspectors informing them of the discrimination that took place and if possible include a copy of the section within the DDA. If you don't get any joy then write to local councillor.
It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

i thought about the local councillor, got the name of the person who is in chearge of the market inspectors, so i might pop down the police station tomorrow and see what they say and send a copy of the complaint to the councillor and boss of the market inspectors, what has really f@cked me off is my father in law was really upset my it, he talks with electic voice from losing his voice box to cancer so he doesnt really like using it in public cos every stops and looks at him, so to have the ar$e going to him in public really up set himThe Weegie wrote:ultimatehandyman wrote:Is the guy on the stall being abusive and threatening in any sort of way?

they went to his stall to buy some batterys as the mother in law was paying the father in law moved away from his stay to talk to some he know, as the mother in law has come off the stay the trader said
'will you move that f@cking scooter you daft c$unt your in my f@cking way, ive been stood on here since 8am! i pay a £100 per day and i dont need you blocking my f@cking stall you daft C$unt'
the person who my father in law was talking said is there any need to be going on like that but the bloke just kept on telling father in law to f@ck off, and thats when he went of to find the market inspectors.
i had been told all of what the bloke had said just that he had told him to do one.
defo going to get on to local councillor already know one from last year, and il get on to local council about it and il email a copy of the complaint to our local paper, il let you's know what comes of it all
