I recently removed my bathroom radiator to install a towel rail type. The previous owner had unfortuneately tiled upto the mounting brackets and not under them leaving gaps in the tiles. The bathroom is tiled floor to ceiling, wall to wall - a big job to replace completely. I either need to find matching tiles - does anyone know of a tile finding service - they are 6" and over 12 years old
or If I could - remove some of the tiles from a discrete place and resite them. When we tried to remove the part tiles to take to shops for identification they broke.
Does anyone have any tips about removing tiles whole or even getting the adhesive from the backs of the part ones to find a manufacturers stamp.

You may have problems with this jaws, searching for any tile which is 12yrs + usually comes to a dead end 90% of the time.

There are a couple of companies which specialise in discontinued tiles, a search would find them on google. You could try posting a pic of them on here, you may get lucky.

To try & remove them, I would recommend a large wide flat chisel & try & pry them off without cracking them although I wouldn't put money on it if originally fixed by a pro.

Scrape out grout so they are induvidual tiles save breaking more than you have to.

as said, use a stanley knife to remove grout, try pouring hot water into the groutless joints to get it to seap behind the tile, it may re-activate the adhesive if it was bucket mix, and use a plastering float to pierce them off...

Thanks for your suggestions. I will try the tile finder sites I have located on Google and post my digital photos, and use the hot water to get the existing part tiles off - the adhesive looks very neat - probably a pro job
