Mold discovered behind the removed skirting boards

Post by baranozgul »

Hi,

I removed the skirting boards in the living room, in order to replace the carpet flooring with engineered wood flooring.

At the bottom of an internal wall, some mold was revealed when the skirting board came off. See the pictures here:

How can I properly remove this mold and ensure it does not crawl back in? Though none of the other walls in this room suffers from this, is there a way to understand if what I discovered is early stages of a rising damp case?

You have to be careful with mould as it can be toxic and not good for your health!

Perhaps one of these will reomve it-

Strange, I can see that the pictures are now embedded in the forum thread, can any one else see them? If not I will post again.

Thanks for editing the post.

What type of a contractor would be best to call for help about this mold issue? Are there builders specializing in mold treatment?

to be honest this isn't rising damp, it is just were the air hasn't got to the area just clean with a strong bleach solution or mould inhibiter and you will be fine as UHM has said it's not good for your health so wear gloves
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments..
