Hi everyone,

Just out of curiosity how do you cut Glass tiles or Glass mosaic tiles?

Can you use a standard tile cutter or can you use a Glass cutter?

I'm not using any, but just seen some in a magazine and there is no mention of Glass tiles in my DIY manual.

TIA

Glass tiles can be scored and broken with the rubi scorers, but as a rule you use a wet cutter but with a different blade... click here for a demo video for saint cobain glass tiles.... use mosaic fix (Bal : Mosaic Fix, Single Part Flex, Wall White Star)(white) and they're usually grouted in white, the raw edges are smoothed with a carbrundon stone..

watch the video from the supplier on how to cut.. click SGG FEELING tiles link

just a note: if a normal diamond blade is used to cut glass tiles, you must push the tile very slowly through the blade as really they are too aggressive for glass..

Ceramic tile cutters actually evolved from wheeled glass cutters, that's where the idea came from.

A good rubi cutter will score and snap a glass tile.

Glass mosaics are different matter, they are pretty difficult to cut, there are specially designed glass maosaic nippers to do this, but even then it still takes practice and is very time consuming.

Thanks M3 and Mudster,

I always wondered about glass tiles, think I'll steer clear and use ceramic or porcelain tiles.

Cheers
