stramit board

hi all how do you prep stramit prior to tiling,some of the paper has been torn off

stramit on the outside looks like plasterboard,but instead of plaster inbetween the sheets of paper it is compressed straw when you peel the paper off it looks like weetabix.

I doubt if it will be suitable to tile onto. I think your best bet would be to overboard it with plasterboard, or use tile backer boards in areas that are likely to get wet.

ah yes, i have tiled onto it, its a bitch to chase out for pipes etc.circular saw jobby. use flexible adhesive and flexible grout, just put a straight edge over it and check how true/ straight it is, especially if using large format tiles... didn't know it was called stramit :lol:
