What do you chaps think of Wickes tile adhesive. i have ordered a pile of stuff from Wickes and as you pay once for delivery it would be handy to get the tile adhesive from there too.

I am tiling a bathroom, timber floor, shower area: aquapanel, walls some moisture plaster board and some plaster. I am using large ceramic tiles for the floor and the wall, 10mm thick floor

I can get adhesive from the Builders depot but is a pain to carry 20kg back to my little house.

sorry have never used it so am unable to advise.
Sure it will be ok for DIY purposes, depending upon if you have chosen the correct type for each application.
What adhesive have you bought ?

Wickes should do free delivery on orders over £50.

You say you are using large tiles !
How large ?
Large format tiles on walls shoud be fixed with a cement type adhesive !
Not a ready mixed tub adhesive ! Ready mixed is a dispersion adhesive and relies on a mixture of absorbtion and suction to dry. On a large tile the adhesive is unlikely to dry properly
Also you say timber floor ! This shoul be at least a floor over boarded with plywood. Ideally ply should be 12mm thick and screwed down
Underneath and sides should be primed with appropriate primer.
You should use a flexible adhesive and grout on floor

yes I primed the underside with Bal Bond SBR, I have used 15mm on boards, I was looking at the powdered adhesives from wickes as the advise seemed to be against it. I opted for 300 x 450 or so wall tiles . Actually I decided not to get the adhesive from wickles. Am off to the builders provides in a minute to get it. Its near enought so will just dump it into a suitcase and away I go They sell the Mapei Keraflex S1 with appears to be a good one

The tub of BAL SBR says that you should prime surface of the ply. Do you agree?

Wickes only do free delivery on online stuff scruff. I asked about the free delivery and they said I was outside their catchment areas (2 miles!) so there was a £25 charge. Spend £700 on tiles / trims etc yesterday and so insisted on free delivery. They agreed so thats good

If you're using aquapanel on the walls, why not use it on the floor? as you will achieve the rigidity of 3/4" ply, by only using 12.5mm cement board, and no need to prime it..

In hindsight yes, but I have the ply now so will just go ahead with it I suppose

struggle dragging 3 bags of Adhesive back from Builders providers.

What you think about priming the ply before tiling?
