Preparing bathroom walls for tiling

Post by Dimwit »

I am about to tile my bathroom and need to know what is the best way to treat the walls before fixing the tiles. I have fitted a shower bath. All the walls are back to bare plaster at the moment with a wooden/MDF boxed in area on one face of the shower area.
I have read on some sites to treat all surfaces wooden and plaster with PVA but the guy in the tiling shop reckons PVA is a waste of time and I would be better to use tile primer.
Thanks in advance.

This topic has been covered many times, don't use pva, use an acryllic primer, as suggested in the tile shop

Ok thanks for that. It's off to the tile shop then.
