After lots of arrhing and umming i decided it was time to upgarde my older dewalt 18v kit.The batteries are all getting worn and not lasting as long but as i had so much on this system it was a big decision on what to get. In the end i bought a makita lxt600 kit as its such good value for money.
You get
recip saw
torch
circular saw
angle grinder
hammer drill/driver
impact driver
3 lithium ion batteries and charger
Wow, what can i say, i just love this gear. Its much lighter than my old dewalt stuff and the batteries have a real kick.Never understood why they add torches to these kits but used this one already and it lights up everything.
The angle grinder is very handy with no cords to worrry about.
I use impact drivers every day and the little led light on this one is a nice touch you wonder how you did without.
Other nice touches are the belt hooks but as a left hander wish you could swap the side it was on.
The prices of these kits are set to rise im reliably informed dues to shipping costs etc so its a good time to get one.Cheapest i found was online at £510 plus vat but i paid a bit more at £540 plus vat at a local tool shop as i believe in supporting local business.
At first i wasnt sure about the lack of boxes and just having a big bag to put everything in but getting used to the idea now as it takes up less room in the van than boxes did.The batteries charge a lot quicker than the old nicads im used to and last longer.
If you are looking to replace some kit this kit is well worth the money and considering the drill is over £300 on its own this kit is very well priced for the amount of tools you get.
