The electrician who installed my sockets into the conservatory disabled the light switch at the time and never re-connected it up. I am now having a nightmare trying to reconnect it as I need to wire the wall light up. In the light switch I have two red wires and one black. One of the red wires is connected into the Common part of the switch and the electrician has taped up the other red and black wire. Which of these wires needs to be connected into either the common or L1. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my missus is driving me mad to sort it out and the electrician is not returning my phone calls.

I wonder if there is a reson why he taped them up!

Maybe there are two many wires for the switch!

How many holes are there in the back of the switch?

how many cables, and what colurs are the cores coming into back of switch.

Do you know where these cables go to/from?

Many thanks for responding to my message. Low and behold, the electrician turned up today as he left one of his tools here so I frogmarched him to the switch to sort it out.
